U.S. Legislative Push: Clarity Act at Critical Juncture
The White House is currently reviewing ethics text for the long-awaited Crypto Clarity Act, according to reports, with senators facing an imminent August deadline to vote before recess. Senator Cynthia Lummis has publicly urged the Senate to act on the bill, warning that failure to advance it could result in Democratic opposition derailing the legislation.
The bill represents a rare consensus effort on crypto regulation between Republicans and Democrats, though it continues to face internal resistance from some lawmakers. The Fairshake PAC, the leading crypto industry political action committee, has invested heavily in supporting pro-crypto candidates, though it experienced a setback in a Detroit Democratic primary race where it spent $2 million without securing victory. Despite this single loss, several PAC-backed candidates won elsewhere, suggesting crypto advocacy in Congress is likely to expand.
